Culture Clinics ungdomsgrupp arbetar med projekt inom teman som mänskliga rättigheter, kulturell identitet, konst och kultur, demokrati, stereotyper, hållbar utveckling m.fl. Ungdomsgruppen är mycket aktiv inom ramen för det EU-finansierade programmet Youth in Action vilket innebär att deltagare i ungdomsgruppen ofta representerar Culture Clinic på ungdomsutbyten, seminarier och utbildningar runt om i Europa.
Ungdomsgruppen har också möjlighet att planera och genomföra mindre projekt bland annat med stöd från LSUs ungdomsfond.

How to create an intercultural project

The main aim of the TC is to help youth workers, youth leaders and beneficiaries to be capable of preparing, realizing, and evaluating projects focused on all topics related to the interculturality within the Youth in Action programme. We would like to raise their awareness on cultural diversity. Participants of the TC should be much closer to the knowledge of their own attitude towards interculturality and its potential in any project of Youth in Action.
The aim is to help the participants to find answers on following questions:
- What is intercultural learning in the project
- Basic terminology and how to formulate the intercultural dimension of the project in the application form?
- What is not intercultural learning and how to avoid creating more stereotypes and prejudices?
- How and what can we learn from multiculturality in the project? How to work with my own identity in the project?
- How to organize the project in order to gain as much as possible from the meeting of people from different cultures?

Training course "Cut the Ice" on intercultural learning
15 to 20 November 2009, Netherlands
Activity type: Training course
CUT the ICE is a training course with specific focus on intercultural learning and citizenship. During 5 days, an international group of youth workers will focus on using intercultural learning methods to discover and understand the concepts of cultural diversity and citizenship. The training is based on methods and approaches framing within the non-formal education field. Special attention will be given to the transferability of the used exercises, methods and debriefings towards their future projects. Participants will be challenged on their intercultural awareness, active participation, personal self-assessment and ability for groups' work.

"Silence is not cultural diversity learning"

The training course by name "Silence is not cultural diversity learning", offers a wide range of learning opportunities for Youth workers to address discrimination using cultural diversity in SEE and EU Youth Work
The main aim is to empower group of youth workers and youth leaders who are working with discriminated groups through transfer of knowledge, skills and adopted working methods that they are going to implement in their future work with young people who have been social discriminated.
The focus will be on development of skills related to next topics:
- Youth in Action Programme
- Human Rights and anti-discrimination topics
- Communication skills
- Cultural diversity and conflict process
- Theatre and art activities as a tool for anti discriminatory work – using Case studies
- Development of practical project proposals
Objectives:
- To develop youth workers competencies in addressing Human Rights and discrimination through cultural diversity aspects using Youth in Action Programme
- To raise awareness about different forms of discrimination
- To promote tolerance and multiculturalism, diversities and values of differences
The methodology of the training course:
The project is designed as an open learning process based on participants exchange of experiences. The training course will follow the approach of non-formal and social education.
Working language:
English – all participants must be able to actively communicate using English language
Target Group
Youth workers, youth leaders, actively involved in work for and with young people,

“Peace and Love”

Aim of the Exchange:
This project aims to point similarities and differences in the culture of ten nations. We want to present culture and relations among 10 countries.This project doesn’t give a promise only on culture side, also. It will influence on delivered our countries truth to the world public, to be tanned our cultures to the world countries, development of tourism and to solve other important problems. To support regional collaboration about national heritage among the countries.To share our national heritages.
- Encouraging greater involvement by young people in shaping their national values.
- Informing, Influencing peace education policy, practice.
- Developing, exploring models of practice in peace education, learning
This Training will be involve chairmen of the NGOs and youth leaders, communities from all Europe countries and neighbouring countries.
The main aim of the project is supporting the collection and sharing of robust evidence of the impact of peace opportunities on young people, to show our heritage and toleranty, to assist the members of the human rights and minority NGOs, to know about our culture, young people in Europe and neighbouring countries in gaining knowledge of basic mechanisms and experiences of human and minority rights promotion; establishing contacts and networks, finding new partners, exchanging information, fundraising; and obtaining technical skills to get access to relevant information in the field with a specific emphasis on information technologies. The main theme of this training will be as following “let’s present our heritage and respect of others’ territorial integrity '.
Objectives:
- To develop participants’ knowledge and competence in building new relationships between majorities/minorities within the population;
- To give the participants an opportunity to learn how to build a dialogue with minorities as active citizens;
- To familiarize the participants with the approaches of the manual of Human rights education and how to best use and adapt it to local context and realities;
- To address the complexity of working with minority issues in areas with a diversity of cultures;
- To create awareness about intercultural dialogue and developing communication and community development skills;
- To exchange experience in intercultural dialogue from an international perspective;
- To establish network of youth leaders on intercultural dialogue with young people;
- To promote Youth in Action programme as a tool for promoting intercultural dialogue
- To raise the awareness about the importance of the intercultural dialogue in the European level
- To support regional collaboration among the countries
Methodology
The methodology will include communication based methods (interaction, dialogue, open discussions), activity based methods (sharing experience, practice and experimentation), socially focused methods (partnerships, teamwork, networking) and self directing methods (creativity, discovery, responsibility, action).
The overall character will be participative, pro active and interactive with a learner – centred educational approach, as recommended by Council of Europe for non formal education in youth work.
Who can participate on the training course:
- Over 18 years old
- Actively involved in youth work
- Be highly motivated to actively participate in the whole training course and to contribute to the development of future projects
- Youth workers from Programme Countries (EU Member States/EFTA/Turkey), Neighbouring Countries (South East Europe/Eastern Europe/Caucasus) and Other Partner Countries directly working with young people
- Be able to share their experience with the other participants
- Be able to share information about their organization or institution
- Be able to communicate on English
